Astra
Lighting ltd. was estabished in the year 1997.
It has set upstate of the art facility near chandigarh
(India) to manufacture high intensity discharges lamps,
luminaries and energy saving lamps. The plant and machinery
has been improrted from Europe and the production line
is one of the most advanced and considered to pressure
Sodium, High pressure Mercury , High Pressure Metal
Halide Lamps, HPSV Arc Tubes, Electromagnetic ballast
for HID Lamps and Compact Fluroscent Lamps and CFL.
Its manufacturing plant situated at Manpura H.P has
capacity of 2.0 million HID lamps, 0.8 million HPSV
Arc Tubes and 2.5 million CFL Lamps. The manufacturing
equipments being used by "ASTRA" has a cutting
edge over that of existing manufactures from the point
of view of technology and process reliability. The Company
has also set up state of art facility for manufacturing
of Compact Fluoresent Lamps.
They are designed to replace incandescent lamps &
can fit in the existing light fixtures used in ordinary
light bulbs. Their major advantage is that they have
much longer relamping intervals & give 80% saving
in electricity there are two types of CFL's Integrated
and non-Integrated
Intergrated CFL : They combine a tube They combine
a tube an electronic ballasts in a light fixture. The
bulb itself does not include a ballast which is in the
light fixture. These bulbs are available in 2U, 3U,
4U & Spirl
CFL : They allow for the replacements of consumable
CFL bulbs & the extended use of electrical ballasts
in a light fixture. The bulb itself does not include
a ballast which is in the light fixture. These bulbs
are available in the PL-C, PL-S & PL-L series.
The companies quality management has been duly accredited
for ISO 9001-2000 CERTIFICATION by QS of Switzerland.
The company products are ISI marked which is the certification
of quality issued by bureau of Indian Standards. The
company has also obtained CE mark for its products and
the products duly comply to the relevantIEC and ANSI
standards. The aforementioned design and quality structures
are well integrated in the production line, supply chain
and final testing. Astra Lighting endeavors to make
a commitment to customer satisfaction at word class
level of excellence and its objective is not to provide
customers the best value for money. The commitment to
quality continues through production, process and quality
vision inspection system
Astra has two separate chains for soft and hard glass
shells for manufacturing HID Lamps As the processing
temperatures.
Astra has following advanced manufacturing machines
for HID Lamps Manufacturing.
Stem machine is specially designed to control various
defect and to produce consistent quality of the stems
which are free from defect like pinch carck, flare crack,
residual strain due to improper annealing and misalignment
of components
Sealing machine has various unique features to control
defect like seling cracks and hole, improper thread,
loose cap and misalignment of mount assembly etc.
Rotary and linear exhaust machines help achive uniform
and high vacuum level which ensures long life and luminous
efficiency throughout the life of the lamp.
Raw material is the key to products quality, all inputd
are strictly inspected before production
Testing laboratory is well equipped with modern testing
equipment for lighting products. Each and every products
is monitored stricity at each every stage of production.
Lamps are tested for voltage, current flow test, Lumens
etc. The company has set up an advanced R&D laboratory
to develop new products. The facilities include equipments
to test lumen output , CCT, CRI life test, lumen maintenance
harmonics, power factor and safety features of HID and
CFL Lamps
with its consistent quality, service and price competitiveness
Astra has been successful in obtainng OEM business from
leading global and Indian brands. Astra products are
approved for supply to Govt. Agencies in India and overseas.

2004 and now has significant presence in MIDDLE EAST
